Long weekend in Cornwall
The day after Craig headed back to NZ, we headed down to Cornwall with Grant and Sal for a long weekend. We stayed at the most incredible B&B in St Ives, a gorgeous little (and in summer, no doubt very touristy) town in South West Cornwall, not far from the beach with lovely rooms and incredible hosts. Sal booked a couple of fantastic restaurants for dinner (Porthminster Cafe and another brilliant seafood restaurant) and we spent the days driving down the coast and visiting the gorgeous beaches and lounging in the B&B's huge hammock. We had Rick Stein's fish and chips in Padstow and visited the outdoor Minack amphitheatre built into the side of the cliff above Porthcurno beach - the southern most point of England and the most incredible beach. The water however was freezing cold and definitely not swimable - at least for Sal, Grant and me - Cawston put in a good effort and managed two swims.
