All Blacks in Edinburgh

We had a full weekend this weekend starting with Gaz and Camilla's engagement party on Friday night in a garden bar down in Clapham - venue was awesome and it was a good night with plenty of drinks flowing - unfortunately no pics as we forgot the camera. We flew up to Edinburgh on Sat morning, running late of course (we missed our speedy boarding AGAIN!)and almost left Tersh in the UK when she was held at security with all of Hamish's toiletries in her hand luggage while Hamish sat comfy on the plane. Edinburgh was far colder than England so we donned our winter coats and shot into town to pick up the boys' kilts for the Ceilidh on Saturday night. The Ceilidh was held in a gorgeous little church in the middle of town with a live band and about a hundred people with most of the guys in kilts and the girls all in ball dresses. We were taught how to do various Scottish dances which involved heaps of energy, being thrown around and everyone in hysterics. It was an incredible experience with everyone getting right into it and, given that most of us were not Scottish, doing a complete second rate job and looking completely uncoordinated (not at all helped by the alcohol consumption!). Needless to say, we were sporting various bruises the next day but would do it again in a second - it has to be one of the most fun things we have done in a long long time! We met up with Matt, Amy, Chris, Helen, Manu and a bunch of the others in a small pub down a cobblestoned lane filled with All Black supporters to head to Murrayfield, amongst thousands of the 65,000 that were going to the game. You would never have thought that it was an away game for the ABs given the number of kiwis in the crowd - the atmosphere was hyped and everyone was in high spirits. We headed to Cargo bar after the game and it ended, as always, in a night of carnage. We had a brilliant night catching up with Matt and Ames and everyone else - not feeling too hot today for the 6 hour train ride back.
