HOME

So.....after a couple of years of being away, on 21st December we flew home for Christmas and NYs - on the down low - for 5 weeks out of England and away from work. We flew into Brisbane to spend Christmas on the Gold Coast - very exciting as we had been planning on some quality beach time for a long long time. We gave my mum, dad and sister the fright of their lives when we walked into their hotel room which was brilliant given that we had been so paranoid about being caught out in the web of lies that we had been spinning about our whereabouts (supposedly Norway in the snow with the rest of our away from home at Christmas time friends). We had six fabulous days on the Gold Coast, drinking beers and eating summery food and swimming at the beach.....until it closed that is because of a cyclone (when does that ever happen?) which meant tons of rain and closed beaches but amazing storms and massive waves (one night they were even shooting across the beach like ''it was a torpedo'' someone said...). We had a really short and hurried 6 days in NZ (with my cousin Matt's wedding down in the Coromandel that took a couple of days out...) - it wasn't long enough and we didn't get to see half of the people that we wanted to. Still, we had time to indulge in a few barbeques and a few drinks and catch up with some of our friends/family before we flew out. Until next time I guess...
