Summer holiday in Croatia

We spent this year's summer holiday on yacht along the coast of Croatia. Eight of us started out of Dubrovnik - the most beautiful European city we have seen to date - and headed North to Korcula - the first island just off the coast. We spent the day in a small bay swimming of the boat and relaxing in the sun and we spent the evening at a tiny little marina hidden from the open sea. The water in the Adriatic was very fresh to swim in (in a good way!) and crystal clear. We spend the next night in Korcula marina and had a big night out after a delicious dinner of fresh fish, several bottles of wine and a large number of shots at the local outside bar. There was live music playing and loads of people out enjoying the 30 temperature. We headed further north from Korcula after a couple of nights to spend the evening in Hvar. Hvar is an incredible city - cobblestoned with lots of bars and restuarants. The non-city marina was across the water from the city so we caught a speed boat over and had dinner in the most incredible little restaurant on a rooftop with sprinklers providing mist throughout the night to keep the temperature down. The city marina, which is alongside the cobbled main street of Hvar, was filled with massive yachts and launches and people with just SO much money. Hvar, although an incredible old city, is very glitzy and definitely a place to be seen. From Hvar it was time to head back down to Dubrovnik - we spent a couple of nights on the islands back down and, as on the rest of the trip, we stayed in little marinas and ate at the local marina restaurants (fresh fish EVERY NIGHT!). We got back down to Dubrovnik after a week and had a last night dinner booked at Gils, a great restaurant and bar on the Dubrovnik marina. We walked the walls of the old city and explored both the new and old towns for the couple of days that we were there. All in all a brilliant holiday and definitely a place to go and see.
