Kicking Horse & Sunshine

On Tuesday we all dragged ourselves out of bed for a hour and a half drive west to a new-ish ski resort - Kicking Horse. Given its random location in the Rockies, it doesn't (yet) attract hordes of people so we pretty much had the slopes to ourselves with no lift queues and long runs. It has 106 runs, with the longest run measuring 10 kilometres. On Wednesday we went local and spent the day up Sunshine Mountain (only 20 min drive from Banff and a massive 3,000 acres to ski). The weather was great but that meant that half of Alberta was also skiing Sunshine as well. We took the mountain range photos at the top of a quadruple (or more) black diamond run on Sunshine Mountain at around 8,900 feet (that we walked to - not boarded!).
